Involvement

I became a volunteer member of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) of Utah Steering Committee two years ago. I am passionate about the work HRC engages in nationally creating a more equal world for all, so I wanted to volunteer my design abilities to promote their mission.

At the beginning, I volunteered to create the main invitation that would be sent to thousands of Utah HRC supporters throughout the country for the annual HRC Utah Gala fundraising dinner. This dinner raises over $100,000 to support HRC’s efforts across the country. As I met the committee and other HRC Utah folks, I quickly developed a deep love and passion for the organization and found myself quite immersed beyond just designing the invitation.

I now serve as the Design and Media Co-Chair on the Steering Committee and oversee all of the design and marketing materials for the annual HRC Utah Gala, as well as assist in managing their social media and website. I often volunteer at local HRC events, and I attended the Equality Convention held in Washington, DC multiple times so I could grow my knowledge and help expand HRC Utah’s presence in the state.
